A Chinese man identified as Liu Fei proposed to his girlfriend with a giant rock. According to Liu, this 330-ton rock actually is a meteorite. Last year, Liu and his girlfriend traveled to Kashgar Prefecture in Xinjiang. They came across this meteorite at a collector’s home, and his girlfriend particularly liked it.

Later, Liu spent about 1 million RMB (145,000 US dollars) to buy the meteorite and kept it a secret from her until the day of proposing.

One onlooker said: “The young man is very romantic, asking her to marry him in this way. I’ve only heard of men using rings to ask for marriage. It’s the first time I have ever seen someone use such a big stone to propose.”
